Super-charged Scavenger Hunt
One of our favorite childhood games that not only stimulates observational skills but also offers a wonderful opportunity to collaborate is a scavenger hunt.

There is relatively little preparation required, they can usually be prepared with things around your house or outside your back door, and it isn’t necessarily dependent on good weather since you can choose a hunt that is specifically geared to be done inside or out.

The best part? You can easily weave in educational elements as part of play time without the kids even noticing!

Supplies and Tools needed:
A white paper bag
Colored markers

Getting started
Step 1: Color small squares of each color on the front of your paper bag.
Step 2: Decide whether you want to play this game inside and outside.
Step 3. Discuss the rules. For example, will the winner be the first person to find one item belonging to each color category or the person who finds the most items in each color category? Will you accept hues of each color or will it need to be exact?

Taking it Deeper
Where do you imagine color comes from?
Why do you think some flowers darker shades than others?
How might light affect the way we see color?
