Common Ground
2023-2024 Chair – Barbara Feasey
Draft of Vision and Purpose Statement
Variety is what gives delight to a flower bouquet. The dream blue color and tiny beads of muscari are enhanced by the lacy large pink hydrangeas, the academic liatris offset by casual zinnias. And, what can strengthen a group of people including group of gardeners is an assortment of ideas, opinions, and backgrounds gathered to achieve our Mission.
The Seattle Garden Club honors all people. As we engage in our core disciplines and contribute to civic improvement, we commit to widening the breadth of our programs, practices, and partnerships to all who have a passion for the world around us. We seek to foster greater equity and promote understanding as appropriate to our Mission. These commitments, approached in an intentional way, will enrich our Club and help shape a more successful future.

GCA Resources, Creating Common Ground
The Ad Hoc Committee on Cultivating Common Ground and Building Diversity was formed by GCA President Debbie Edwards in October 2020. Our organizational values speak directly to our embrace of inclusivity: collaboration, respect, integrity, engagement, excellence, and knowledge. A more diverse leadership and reach will expand our knowledge base and engage new and exciting leaders in our work.
