Seeking Floral Designs for Annual Meeting

Wanted—centerpieces for our annual meeting!
As in the past—we are looking for volunteers to make floral centerpieces for our annual meeting on June 8th. We will be celebrating 100 years of the SGC being a part of the GCA (1923-2023). We thought it would be fun for each centerpiece to represent a decade. Your inspiration could be a garden, a historic event (national or a local) or fashion, as long as it represents your chosen century. We ask that you ensure that the design size and shape is appropriate for a centerpiece. There will be no judging, but please provide a card covering the “intension” of your design! The photo on the right, is an example of an arrangement that portrays the 1920s. We have the following decades still available: 1920, 1930, 1940, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2020.
Please email Caroline Goedhart at [email protected] with your chosen century, we are looking at 1920 to 2020. First come first serve, so if you are interested, respond as soon as possible.

Yellow Book – 2019: FS &JG is 5 books- Link to GCA Site Version

As of July 1, 2019, the FS &JG is divided into 5 books. Books 1-3 contain the information needed to host each type of show. Book 4 is the FS&JG Pocket Guide @ the Show –which includes passing, clerking, judging as well as the scales of points and comment writing –and Book 5 is a Glossary of Terms.

The FS&JG, affectionately referred to as the Yellow Book, is environmentally green and available for download on desktops, laptops, iPads, and mobile devices.  In addition, the FS&JG Pocket Guide @ the Show may be printed and spiral bound or stapled as a 5 ½ x 8 ½ size booklet.  The GCA does not offer printed copies of the FS&JG. If you decide to print any book of the FS&JG, you will lose hyperlinking capability and will need to reprint when the annual updates are made on July 1.

The Flower Show & Judging Guide is maintained by the Flower Show Committee and many of the complementary materials such as entry cards, schedule templates, and forms are accessible from the Flower Show Committee landing page.
